Step into Andi Cullins’ reimagined reality with (un)Endangered Species;
Re-imagined Places, an innovative exploration of imagination and reclamation.
This immersive exhibit invites visitors into a vibrant world where two-dimensional and three-dimensional art converge, flowing seamlessly from walls to sculptures below.
Cullins combines African and Australian Aboriginal fabric designs, batiks, western fabrics, and her own hand-dyed textiles into intricate fabric mosaics that redefine iconic scenes and creatures. These patterns, part of her CODE SWITCH concept, are now extended into the three-dimensional realm, transforming found or discarded objects into breathtaking works of art.
Through color, texture, and movement, Cullins reimagines animals and landscapes, creating a unique dialogue between cultural patterns and the natural world. Large-scale pieces provide backdrops for these redefined creatures, creating a dynamic and thought-provoking exhibition.
